Jumping Ingame Text and more

Hey all,
Recently more and more complaints came about ingame text that shows as '???' or that jumps in the screen.
In this post will be a solution to fix this problem.

1st attempt: If you're running Freelancer on Vista or Windows 7 then do this: Right-click the Freelancer-icon, click all the way below on properties, then click on the tab compatibility and then click RUN as ADMIN(istrator), click ok and restart Freelancer, must do the trick.

2nd attempt: A possible reason that it's jumping or isn't correctly showing is because you don't have the latest driver of your graphics card. Go to your card provider's website and get the latest driver. Sometimes you might see better gameplay but mostly it will be a minor bug that is being fixed!

3rd attempt: A good reinstall also helps. De-install the game, throw away the maps, de-install freelancer modmanager also, throw the maps away etc. Then get a fresh start by installing all and try playing again. So that we know if you fully installed the game that you don't have any missing files. Don't forget to save you FL-ID.


The first solution is mostly the best, if not continue to the rest of the attempt, and if it still isn't working then, PM me.

My text problems go away when I run FL as admin. If I forget to do so the text gos back to ?????.
